Good evening everyone! I hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend :) I know I did! I even took some time off from blogging but I’m sure you understand.
I was pretty darn busy and had a lot of fun.
On Saturday Jay and I hit up the Red Bull Flugtag!
We took the train over because we knew that there would be a lot of traffic and it worked out perfectly.
It was a gorgeous day and fun to watch!
Later that night we went to a bar/restaurant called the Tap Room Grill.
We started off with some beers which is kind of unusual for Jay and I. We’re usually mixed drink kind of people but lately we’ve been trying different beers. It’s fun! Jay really loved the Ithica Apricot Wheat. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for this beer when we are out! It is very light and tasty.
This was my favorite! Actually, it may be my favorite beer EVER!
We started off with some chips and salsa.
There was mango salsa, mild and hot. My favorite was the mango!
For our meal we got pizzas. Mine had prosciutto and arugula. I really like it because it was so thin and crispy.
Jay had a white pizza. My parents met us later and my dad had this impressive lobster dinner!
On Sunday I worked at the OG. Afterward, Jay and I went for a long run. We ran 10 miles!! I was proud of us and we were really tired and hungry after so we went out to eat again!
We felt like we earned it :D
We found out that there was a craft beer menu so we had to check it out! Therewere some interesting beers but we were bummed that they didn’t have everything that was on the list, especially the Ithica Apricot Wheat!
When the food came I was excited! I was so hungry. I was a little disappointed with my chicken sandwich because it was a little thick for my liking. It had American cheese, spinach and tomatoes on a ciabatta roll.
Today was a complete day of relaxation! I slept in and then Jay and I did some window shopping at the mall. The sales just weren’t all that impressive. Then my family had a bbq.
Brie with orange marmalade and pecans!
My mom was cookin’ up a storm!
Sausage and peppers, potato salad, macaroni salad and green beans.
Some of my grandmom’s cauliflower soup on the side!
And for dessert?
A peach blueberry pie.
And some tea!
It was a great weekend and a great way to officially end summer. Even though it isn’t really over for a few more weeks.
Oh, and I finished cleaning my room!! It looks great and I feel so much better. I even moved my bed to a different spot. Now I just need to paint and redecorate and I’ll be a happy camper. Feels good to be productive!
I’m happy that tomorrow is the beginning of my work week and it is already Tuesday :)
