Today was an exciting day in terms of food and gadgets!
I woke up and my stomach was rumbling and I knew that some serious breakfast was in need. You’d think that because it is so chilly here in NJ I would be craving something warm but nope. I wanted a smoothie!
In my smoothie:
•1 banana
•5 ice cubes
•cocoa powder
•a splash of milk
•1/4 cup apple sauce
I was a little nervous to use the applesauce in my smoothie but I figured I’d give it a whirl. Couldn’t be all that bad, right? And it wound up being delicious Perfect consistency and tasty.
I made my smoothie with the help of the new blender! I accidentally broke our old one somehow so a replacement was needed. I was pretty excited that it comes apart in so many pieces so you can clean it easily. Do all blenders do this? One day I’ll own a fancy blender but for now this one works perfectly
And thennn…
something came in the mail!
What was it?
My camera!!!
I did a happy dance and fell in love! I’ve had so many digital point and shot cameras and it was time to finally get a “real” camera. Or a DSLR if we are being fancy. I did a lot of research online and I’m really happy with the camera I now have! A Nikon D3100.
I thought some cooking was needed to celebrate.
I bought these at Trader Joe’s the other week and I wanted to use them! Beth told me she loved them so I decided to give them a try.
Seriously who would have thought?! Little cubes of garlic and basil that you can just throw into your food while cooking! Seriously brilliant.
I wound up making a pasta concoction.
It involved some garlic and basil obviously, ground turkey sausage, crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and fresh Parmesan cheese.
Mmm and it was a good pasta mix! And good practice with the new camera.
My lighting was a little dark but I’m learning
Sandy then posed for some pictures.
I’m hoping that everything I take pictures of is as photogenic as her!
