Told ya my posting would be goofy this week!
For breakfast I had a yogurt and ants on a log.
Kinda like regular ants on a log except mine had muesli on it :) I’m pretty sure I always forget how much I love this snack until I have it again.
For lunch I made a mix of last night’s leftovers.
So what was in my leftover remix? Baked chicken, red pepper, carrots, potatoes and a generous sprinkle of oregano!
I’ve taken the past few days off from running/working out. But I’m planning on doing something slow and stretching tomorrow. I start to itch when I don’t work out after awhile!
And thennn! Tonight I went to Buddakan in Philadelphia for restaurant week. Words can not explain the amazingness of this place.
The ambiance is amazing. And of course the best part is the Buddha!
We loved the chairs! Creepy but funny.
We each started off with an “Enlightenment” drink which included sauza blanco tequila, cucumber, thai bird chili cordial. I really wanted this because I love drinks with cucumber. It tasted a lot like a cucumber margarita/mojito and was pretty strong. During my first couple sips I was coughing! Once it watered down a little it was deeeelish. So cool and refreshing.
Next up was appetizers!
CRISPY SHRIMP AND SCALLOP SPRING ROLLS: plum and spicy mustard sauces.
CHICKEN AND GINGER DUMPLINGS: sesame dipping sauce.
Holy wow! We shared both of these and it would be hard to say which one was my favorite. If I had to pick I’d say the dumplings! They were just bursting with flavor.
Then I had the sea bass! Hands down my favorite food ever. So so delicious. And the make it perfectly. It literally melts in your mouth.
PAN SEARED CHILEAN SEA BASS: sauteed haricots verts, butternut squash, maitake mushrooms, sake truffle jus.
Julie had the bbq pork.
ASIAN BARBEQUE PORK: grilled tenderloin, chinese broccoli, giant panko crusted onion rings.
I tasted this of course and it was also very tasty.
And we shared some crab fried rice and I took the leftovers home :D
For dessert we had DIP SUM DOUGHNUTS: five-spice sugar mini doughnuts served warm with blackberry jam, chocolate sauce and ginger cream cheese.
CRYING CHOCOLATE: warm chocolate cake with a soft center and vietnamese coffee ice cream.
The desserts were even amazing! Sometimes a restaurants desserts are just eh but these were perfect. All of the flavors were on point and phenomenal.
And the company was great! We celebrated Julie’s birthday and her promotion! She is one of those great friends that you don’t have to see every day and we can just pick up right where we left off. It was a great night and I will be sad to see Restaurant Week go!

ahh seeing those pictures makes me miss the food! i seriously wish we could eat that meal everyday!
I would go every day :)
Oh my gosh, can my lunch break get here soon enough? That food looks amazing, the sea bass was too much for me to handle. I had to get it off the screen before I started drooling. I still need to try this restaurant with you!
We should go when you come home!!!
