Last summer I visited different farm stands, stops, and markets in search for Jersey fresh produce. My “Farm Fresh Friday” was a way for me to not only explore different areas and foods, but also to share what I found.
In May, Jay and I moved to Philadelphia! Of course I will share more photos and stories soon. In the meantime we are still getting the house together. During the first few weeks we slept in the dining room while we waited for our floors to be finished. And while we didn’t anticipate having the opportunity to focus on other projects first, it was a fun chance to do some fun things to our home first.
Such as… start a garden!! While growing up my Dad always had an epic garden in our backyard. I remember picking green beans and popping them into my mouth. There are also many vivid memories of carrying heaving zucchini across the yard to and into the kitchen for dinner.
The garden is growing and I love peeking out the door every morning to see its progress. In the meantime, I have been buying plenty of produce. I’m hoping that by mid July I will be buying less and growing more!
Last week I had my sister over for lunch and we enjoyed a very veggie filled meal! I sautéed zucchini, onions, green beans, mushrooms and peppers.
Sautéed veggies —> lunch! I served the peppers and onions with some Italian chicken sausage on a wheat roll and the rest of the veggies on the side. Perfect nutritious and delicious lunch!
Aside from my growing garden, I have so much to share! Especially the changes we’ve made and our beautiful kitchen! As we make progress I will post photos and share with you. Such an exciting time in our lives!!!
