I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far! I’m always extra thankful at Christmas time that I live near Philadelphia because it is such a beautiful city during this time of the year!
Last weekend Jay and I took a trip to the city to do some sightseeing and take in all the Christmas spirit. And the spirit is pretty official. According to U.S. Airways Magazine, Philadelphia was named the most spirited city! It’s true, you can read the article here.
Love Park was decorated beautifully with a big tree!

Then we checked out Christmas Village, which was quite a controversy in the city. For a few days the word “Christmas” was taken down. In this little area there are a bunch of vendors set up selling different things and people felt it wasn’t fair to just devote the area to Christmas. But is has been a tradition for many years so they decided to put Christmas back in the village!
After viewing the city we headed to Macy’s. Inside is a huge tree display that has been there for many years. The store has changed name many times and began as Wanamaker’s.
The tree and lights are displayed on a large wall and perform a show every hour. I’ve been to the display every year since I was a baby!
After spending time in the city we decided to head closer to home for lunch.
